Nonprofit buying lands on Treasure Coast to save from development

A 20-acre tract along Bridge Road in Hobe Sound has been preserved by The Conservation Fund through $1.2 million in local, private donations, helping create an ecological corridor linking Jonathan Dickinson State Park and the Loxahatchee River. The purchase is part of the Loxa-Lucie Headwaters Initiative’s broader effort to protect land from development pressure and demonstrate local commitment as discussions continue around a potential half-cent sales tax for land preservation in Martin County.
