Fun, Safe Entertainment Option Coming to Martin County for Thanksgiving weekend
After sold out shows in California, Chicagoland, and more, international countertenor and local favorite, Terry Barber, is coming to Martin County with a drive-in version of his new and improved touring concert “Mercury, The Story Of Queen’s Front Man.” This live concert will be held at the Martin County Fairgrounds on Saturday, November 28, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and can be enjoyed from the comfort and safety of one’s own vehicle with plenty of social distancing.
“I’m really excited to return to Stuart, Florida during Thanksgiving weekend to provide this entertainment opportunity to people of all ages. The pandemic has hit the arts community as deeply as many other industries. As artists, we have had to reinvent ourselves and find ways to keep doing what we love, which is to perform live for audiences,” said Terry Barber.
Unlike so many online concerts, this event will not be streamed. This live, drive-in performance is about the band that rocked the world, and the fame, decadence, tragedy and triumph that Freddy Mercury encountered throughout his life.
The Martin County Fairgrounds is a venue that will allow for an entertaining evening where fans can “Drive In & Rock Out!” while staying safe. There will be plenty of room to spread out across six acres of land and enjoy the concert with live artists and a 40-ft projection screen. Masks will be required if attendees leave their car. Beverages will be delivered directly to attendees so they can remain comfortable in their vehicles. No coolers or tailgating allowed.
“I want to prove this drive-in form of entertainment can be successful so I can offer a turnkey, safe benefit concert for charities that have been struggling through this pandemic. I hope the staff and board members of local non-profits attend and see for themselves the opportunity to host a new type of fundraiser for their organization,” added Barber. “Artists for future concerts would be customized to appeal to the target audience of the non-profit.”
Unlike traditional concert tickets that are bought for individual admission, each purchase for “Mercury, The Story Of Queen’s Front Man” will admit one vehicle with up to six fans per vehicle. Ticket prices will be $99 for general admission and $149 for VIP - which offers front row unobstructed views.
Tickets can be purchased online through Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mercury-the-story-of-queens-lead-singer-tickets-123464819599. The Martin County Fairgrounds is located at 2616 Southeast Dixie Highway, Stuart, FL 34996. For more information visit www.terry-barber.com or call 917-338-6319.
