Creativity out of Chaos - Local marketing firm creates resource websites for Martin and St Lucie Counties amidst global pandemic
During this global health crisis, people are doing what they can to support one another. For the Firefly Group, a full-service marketing and public relations firm in Palm City, Florida, it's about communicating information. There's a lot of it flying around from government, businesses, and the media. In response to the pandemic, Firefly created two local resource websites for Martin and St. Lucie counties: OurMartinCounty.com and OurStLucie.com with help from their long-time web development partner Andrew Webster, owner of Impressive Click.
Both sites contain health, government and small business resources as well as fun things to do while sheltering at home. They also include regularly updated information about which Martin and St. Lucie county restaurants are open for takeout and delivery.
"For us, the chaos has been an opportunity to harness our creativity, spark bold ideas, launch new ways of operating, and assist our clients while supporting our community," explained Firefly president and Chief Illuminator, Stacy Weller Ranieri. "The feedback on the resource pages and the appreciation we've received - especially from family-owned restaurants - has been really gratifying. We expect these resource sites will continue to be useful even after our communities are able to open for business again."
The pandemic has brought to light the weaknesses some small businesses have with their digital presence, whether it's an outdated website or an underutilized Facebook page. Business owners recognize that they will have to operate differently in this new world.
"We are grateful to be in a position to help our clients and community connect to one another at a time when communication is more critical than ever," Ranieri added. "We are going to see permanent changes in the way people do business and in the way our government clients and projects handle their outreach with the public."

When they learned about the creation of the Martin County resource site and there being a similar need in St. Lucie County, they didn't hesitate to offer their support.
