Martin eyes Bar-B Ranch for conservation

The Martin County Commission unanimously approved negotiations for a conservation easement on the 1,941-acre Bar-B Ranch, the first project under the voter-approved Martin County Forever half-cent sales tax. Partnering with the state’s Florida Forever program, the county will preserve critical habitat, water quality, and stormwater protection while keeping the working ranch in private hands.
