Martin County establishes committee to oversee purchase of land for conservation

Martin County is moving forward with land conservation efforts following voter approval of the Martin County Forever half-cent sales tax, establishing an oversight committee to guide future land purchases. The initiative is expected to generate approximately $223 million over 10 years to protect natural lands, improve water quality, and preserve the county’s quality of life.
