Glowing with Gratitude!

Posted on December 23, 2022

Dear friends,

Although 2022 has had its share of difficult times, I am still so very grateful for another rewarding year at Firefly.

Here are just a few things I am especially thankful for:
· Our amazing team (a.k.a. the fireflies) who have produced extraordinary results for our clients through their creativity, passion and outstanding work ethic. Without my staff, we could not do the work we do for our clients.
· Our exceptional clients in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. I’m thrilled to say we work for some of the nicest people who are changing and saving lives, protecting the environment and building beautiful places for people and businesses to thrive.
· Our colleagues from other industries who recommend us to their clients and with whom we collaborate.
· Our graphic designers, printers, photographers and other vendors who support the work we do for our clients.
· Family and friends who encourage and support me and have lifted me up during challenging health issues and the loss of my dad this year.

Next year will be 20 years since I started Firefly out of my home office. It’s been quite a journey!

As we say farewell to 2022, our office will be closed beginning December 26 and will reopen on January 3, 2023. It’s our time to enjoy the holidays, unplug and re-energize. Hoping you too, have an opportunity to relax, make memories with loved ones, and reflect on what you are grateful for as well.

Thank you for being part of the Firefly family and wishing you a healthy, joyful, prosperous and illuminating New Year.

With gratitude,
Stacy

During the holiday season, we take great pleasure in looking back at the work of our nonprofit clients over the last year…
The impactful efforts of House of Hope not only provide healthier ways to feed our friends and neighbors in need but empower them to build better lives through comprehensive health, wellness, job training and other educational programs. We’re excited to assist with their inaugural fundraising event this February - Cirque du Soiree - and hope you will support them through sponsorship and attendance!

The mission of the Martin County Healthy Start Coalition to ensure that every baby is born healthy, every mother is supported, and every father is involved is commendable. Healthy Start taught its first class of doulas to help new mothers, expanded fatherhood services to Okeechobee, filled its Diaper Bank to meet an unprecedented need, and produced another wildly successful Dancing with the Martin Stars.

Banner Lake’s ever-expanding programs to help the community, including meals served at the newly renovated community center, a successful fundraiser for the Dunbar Early Learning Center, and the merger of these two venerable nonprofits.

An opportunity for Firefly to learn more about our new client, the Council on Aging of Martin County (COA) as we conducted focus group meetings at the Kane Center. COA provides an invaluable array of services for aging individuals and their families.

Impact100 Martin launched their kickoff event at the Elliot Museum with a goal of 500 women contributing $1,000 each in 2023. Through the collective power of giving, this female-focused philanthropic organization will be able to grant more $100,000 donations to area non-profits making a transformative difference in Martin County.

The work of Keep Martin Beautiful, the first non-profit I worked with in Martin County and always near and dear to my heart. For decades KMB has been helping our community to be cleaner and greener. We're looking forward to this year’s Great American Cleanup and the International Coastal Cleanup events along with crucially important work to preserve the Martin Grade Scenic Highway.

The vision of the community members who formed the Loxa-Lucie Initiative to create a permanent wildlife corridor spanning 70,000 acres that will include environmentally valuable habitat, and protect the special character of Hobe Sound and Martin County for future generations.

The mission of The Indian River Lagoon National Estuary Program (One Lagoon) to save our precious lagoon in the face of climate change and rising sea levels. The IRL NEP focuses on personal responsibility as well as community efforts to make a difference while we still can, and preserve one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world.

Save the Date! The Martin County NAACP is holding its annual Freedom Fund Gala March 11, 2023 at the Hutchinson Island Marriott Beach Resort!
