A Few of Our Firefly Favs

Posted on December 20, 2021

Dear friend,
This holiday season, we’re into counting - adding up all the things that make our spirits bright and multiplying them by all of the people who share them with us.
It’s a long list, starting with cherished family and friends, interesting and savvy clients, the incredible natural beauty of our environment, and limitless possibilities for the future.
While we’re counting, the Fireflies have added some of their favorite things for giving and sharing. We’ve got a smorgasbord for you: from environmentally-friendly gifts to charitable suggestions and tasty treats.
We're especially proud of our 2022 Florida Ranches Calendar - a beautiful, vintage gift for people to enjoy all year long and a labor of love for us to publish.
As we welcome this time of year, our hearts are filled with love and gratitude for our family and friends. We hope your holiday season is filled with joy.
With kindness,
Stacy Weller Ranieri
Founder, President, and Chief Illuminator

House of Hope

The Gift that Keeps on Giving

House of Hope is one of the most impactful nonprofits in Martin County, helping to end hunger and hardship in our community.
By gifting a crop adoption, you can support House of Hope's Growing Hope Farm and five Nutrition Gardens that provide fresh, healthy produce for local families in need!

So Many Ways to Give from the Heart

Whether it's local or global, nonprofits are always looking for your time, talent or treasure. It all starts from the heart.

Charity Water. There are 785 million people in the world who live without clean water. Access to clean water means education, income, and health - especially for women and kids. Support this global non-profit's life-sustaining efforts here.
A local organization with a similar mission is Students for H20. Their goal is to enhance education, stewardship, and citizenship for all students in our community through clean water habits.
Fairtrade. Changing the way trade works through better prices, decent working conditions and a fairer deal for farmers and workers in developing countries. By connecting farmers and workers with the people who buy their products, they have more control over their lives and decide how to invest in their future.
Located in Downtown Stuart, Castronova Chocolate is a participant of Fairtrade. Every chocolate made has its own story about the people, culture, and environment. They find wild and heirloom cacao varieties that have unique flavors for you to savor and enjoy.
4ocean. Every 4ocean product purchased comes with a "One Pound Promise" to remove trash from the oceans, rivers and coastlines. This supports a growing movement to end the world’s reliance on single-use plastic, and advances our mission to end the ocean plastic crisis.

Locally, Keep Martin Beautiful hosts annual cleanup events and offers opportunities for residents to Adopt a Road by supplying regularly available supplies for residents in Martin County to take their own initiative. To host your own cleanup, click here.

Earth-friendly, people-friendly and healthy too!

Holiday shopping can be stressful, but environmentally-friendly options are a breeze. Take a look at some of these fun ideas!

The ugly truth is that it can be expensive to eat healthy foods. Yet, almost half of the food grown in the U.S. is thrown out since it can't be sold due to misguided aesthetic standards. Misfit Market takes in high-quality, misshapen foods that grocery stores would generally throw away, but are every bit as delicious to eat.
Spray and Grow kits are a healthy, delicious and simple way to grow mushrooms year-round!
North Spore kits are perfect for even the smallest spaces and ideal for beginners, hobbyists or anyone who loves mushrooms!
Grow plants with zero effort right on your countertop. Click and Grow is made of natural, renewable materials, and contains no pesticides, fungicides, hormones or other harmful substances.

Sarah is always on the lookout for great vegan recipes, and this one has the added benefit of no kneading and no mixer. These luscious cinnamon rolls will fill your home with the smells of the holidays.
Whether you found your mushrooms on a foray through the woods or in the grocery store, this recipe for stuffed mushroom caps will entice your guests with its savory, buttery, garlicky taste and smell. This appetizer is a staple in Stacy's family holiday gatherings.
Pat, whose favorite go-to recipe is to make reservations, loves this pizza recipe based on simple items like store-bought dough and sauce. It’s perfect for making with and for the grandkids at the holidays or any time.
While Jess always likes to be on-trend with fashion, she prefers a classic go-to recipe for the holidays. This easy stuffed artichoke dish is sure to delight your taste buds.
Some for eating, lots for sharing - both good reasons for Tiffany to adore this recipe for peppermint bark. Who doesn’t love chocolate, more chocolate, and sweet candy canes? Always the gracious host, Tiffany likes to give family and friends this wonderful treat to take home with them as a gift.
During the holidays and throughout the year, Melissa likes to serve her guests items that include the two major food groups - coffee and chocolate. This scrumptious espresso martini looks gorgeous, tastes great, and pairs beautifully with peppermint bark.
