Stacy Ranieri, president and chief illuminator of The Firefly Group, was honored with the title of 2009 Woman of Distinction by The Soroptimist International of Stuart at the organization’s annual awards banquet on April 7.
Ranieri was among nearly 60 women who were nominated in a variety of categories.
As the winner of the Business/Professional category, Ranieri was selected as a Woman of Distinction because of her personal and professional dedication to improving the quality of life in Martin County.
The Firefly Group’s contributions to the community focus primarily on children’s issues, the natural environment, and sustainable community initiatives. Some of the many organizations that have benefited from her expertise and generosity are Keep Martin Beautiful, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County, Tykes & Teens, Sustainable Martin Alliance, the Treasure Coast Children’s Museum and the Treasure Coast Wildlife Hospital.
Ranieri is currently a member of the board of directors of the Stuart/Martin County Chamber and the United Way of Martin County and is the President of Sustainable Treasure Coast, Inc.
“I am truly honored and humbled to be recognized among this outstanding group of women,” Ranieri said. “The tremendous support I receive from my family and the devotion of the Firefly staff makes it easy to give back to the community that has given me so much.”
